Very good summary, for once giving a picture of some of the realities of life in today’s Ireland rather than the tourist mantras that are usually trotted out.

You need 2 jobs to make money living in Dublin. You must do approximately 70 to 80 hours work a week to save 10,000 euro per year , if you drink and or smoke you will need to work more . If you lived in Poland you could save the same amount of money per year but only have to work 50 hours per week. You work it out

I don’t know why this came up on my feed…. Maybe because I live in Dublin. I spent the same amount of time living in London when I was in my 20’s. Do you honestly think every capital city is different, being a non national, living costs etc? Yes our climate isn’t hot but is a mild temperate one that doesn’t get really hot or really cold. That saying I don’t disagree with you on all things. I just don’t think you’re happy and yes, it was time for you to move. What you put in is what you get out…. Enjoy your return to (one) home It’s a lovely country as most are.

Capitalism is inhumane. Sorry you're leaving. I'm up in Donegal, and rent is not so high. Good luck in the future!

I live in Dublin back in the 98/00
    £1600 Irish pounds.
    That’s 25 years ago
I’ve lived all over the world
    Rent and running a car
    That’s living in the world.
There’s a lot more expensive cities than Dublin
